The Australian Counselling Association has advised that registered counsellors such as myself have now been formally recognised by the Doctors Health Fund so rebates for counselling services will now apply for their members who hold Top Hospital or Top Extra cover.
The process for you to follow is, that you pay for the session and I will provide you with an invoice to make a claim, the invoice will include the following: . Date of Service . Name of person receiving the service . Description of service, e.g., Consultation for counselling . Cost of service . Details of provider (provider name, ACA registration number and address of clinic) The rebate is made against the fund members discretionary pool. Therefore, it is up to the fund member how much they claim back per session. For more information visit www.doctorshealthfund.com.au This is a small step in the right direction, hopefully the Australian Counselling Association will have further success in negotiating with more health funds. As I am a member of the Australian Hypnotherapy Association and have a Hypnotherapist Provider Number, Hypnotherapy may be claimed back through a number of Private Health Insurance Funds, you'll find a list of them on this page together with my Fee's and Charges. If you'd like to book a Counselling or Hypnotherapy Session give me a call on 0435 923 817
