2017 Time To Make Those Changes In Your LifeAs the sun sets on another year I think it's fair to say that 2016 has been a tough year for many. We've said goodbye to many of our favourite celebrities, people that we admire for their achievements, their talent and most importantly for who they were as people. We've seen the world change in ways we never would have imagined just 12 months ago. Now at the end of this turubulent year, we can pause to reflect. How do we want 2017 to be? Are we going to just wander through it suddenly finding ourselves at December still carrying the same issues or are we going to make more conscious choices? Are we going to be the architects of our lives? ...... Quit Smoking? Lose Weight? Overcome Anxiety or Depressions? Are You Ready? It's time for living consciously, making conscious choices about the lives we want to have and the changes we want to make.
Some changes are more challenging then others, but if we are playing a long game and clear about our goals we can not only rise to the challenge, but appreciate what the challenge itself teaches us. I help people make the changes they want to see in their lives! It's harder than it used to be to change unhealthy habits. In so many ways we are more affluent and yet at the same time we are faced with choices our brains haven't yet evolved to handle effectively on their own. We are connected on line but disconnected in person, this alone is a major contributor to addicitve behaviour. If you want to make changes you need to understand why it is that you are struggling to make the changes alone and address that. It doesn't mean delving in to the past necessarily, but rather understanding your behaviour today and what's driving it then with my help making the changes. I don't possess any magical powers, I facilitate the change that you make yourself. I help you become unstuck. I've trained in several modalities including Counselling, Hypnotherapy, NLP and EFT and I draw upon them to help you change the thought patterns and behaviours that are stopping you from overcoming bad habits and limiting behaviours and beliefs. I'm not going to pull any punches here, because change is not easy nor is it meant to be. Our brain is wired to guard the habits it develops, because in the past all habits related to survival, currently we are prone to developing more habits that are counter productive to our survival than are healthy. So with that in mind: If you want to Quit smoking yes it is challenging, there will be some tough days but those challenges are nothing compared to living with emphysema, cancer, heart disease or knowing that your kids are going to have to go through life without you, not to mention the ridiculous investment of money your putting in to killing yourself slowly and painfully. If you want to lose weight, yes it's difficult. Our brains are wired to want carbs and sugar and they're in abundant supply all around us. We are stressed and/or lonely, this leads to emotional eating. It's very hard to change habits that are so easily satisfied. Food has become a modern God that we are being conditioned to worship and see as a source of happiness, it's not it's just fuel. Changing eating habits is very hard because our evoloution is not up to date with processed food and abundance. Even when we are over eating we are still mal-nourished because our food sources lack nutrients. Yes it is challenging, but not as challenging as facing a life time of obesitiy and all the associated disesases that result from it. You may spend a few weeks or maybe even months adjusting to new eating habits but in return you increase your quality of life, your energy levels your moods for the rest of your life. Hard in the short term, and no doubt the road will not be direct with a few lapses along the way, but so worth it! If you want to overcome Anxiety and/or Depression, it means pushing yourself. Showing up for your appointments even when you'd rather hide out under covers or say you're busy or sick. It will be hard at first, but if you make the effort show up you'll experience improvement. Only you can show up, nobody can do it for you or wave a magic wand, it takes consistency and commitment from you, and you'll have to fight against your instincts at first to do it. In return you get your life back, you get freedom to live fully. If you want your life to be different, you have to be different. Something I've realised in my own life and have had confirmed anecdotily by others is that the toughest challenges, the toughest times are often the times you appreciate the most looking back. They're the times that force you to dig deep, to find your inner strength, to shape your life rather than being shaped by it. It's all a matter of perspective. If you are ready for change I'm here to help you. I tailor programs to suit my individual clients drawing upon the many modalities I've trained in.
